The Stars Won’t Go Out

If you were to ask John Green why he started writing books, his reply might be that he has a dream as a child, but when you ask him about his inspirations for his books, you get some great feedback. When Green started writing his best feeling book The Fault in Our Stars, it originally did not have the character names Hazel because the story was vastly different. A good portion of the book is inspired by a girl named Esther. Ester, if you do not know, is a nerdfighter who died of cancer in August of 2010. Her unusual group of friends or “teenagerness,” as Green says on his website, and empathy are what inspired him the most, not because of the cancer. She was a girl that had so much love to give to everyone she met and still inspires people today with her story.

If you would like to learn more about her or her charity that was set up in her memory;
